About the festival
Viimsi Happy Jazz Festival started in 2015 and since it is building up proffessional jazz scene for local and international community.
Number of wonderful international bands and musicians have performed on festival stages with great success. Trumpeters Leroy Jones, John Marshall and James Morrison, vocalists Tricia Boutte, Andrea Motis, clarinetist Antti Sarpila, saxophonist Dennis Pashkevich to name a few.
Main part in the festival’s program is still played by Estonian greats.

Turovski has been recognised as the Guardian of Estonian Life Science (Estonian: Eesti Eluteaduse Hoidja) in 2007 for his work in popularising cultures of animals.
Anne Adams, singer (mezzo-soprano). Member of the Estonian Theater Association (1985), the Estonian Performers ‘Union (2000) and the Estonian Authors’ Association (2004).
Studied accordion with Heljo Aarma in Pärnu. Graduated from the Heino Eller Tartu Music School in 1985 (class of Aino Kõivu).
Since 2008 (intermittently) he has studied traditional music at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theater in the field of ethnomusicology. Has completed various in-service trainings (eg Sadolin’s vocal training master class).
She sang in the Vanemuine Choir in 1977–92 and played supporting parts. Directed a children’s song studio in Tartu in 1996–99. Since 2000 he has been living in Tallinn, where he has continued to teach pop and jazz singing, initially in the NGO Omakogu, since 2014 in the hobby school Noodipuu, she is its director and teacher. Performed as a folk singer, wrote songs.

After studying music at both Fullerton College and Berklee College of Music with jazz greats such as, Mark Whitfield, Ralph Peterson and Tiger Okoshi, Jason has been performing with various projects as a side man and band leader all over the world.
Jason is currently residing in Tallinn and performs alongside some of Estonia’s premier Jazz, Funk, and Pop artist as a Trumpeter as well as arranging, composing and producing for many projects.

On November 3, young soloists, ensembles and the Jazzband of the Viimsi Music School will perform at the Viimsi and Haabneeme school hall.
Jazzband has been active at Viimsi Music School for over fifteen years. During this time, the composition has been renewed several times. So again this year. Once again, it is a great pleasure to perform in Viimsi schools and offer great music at the concert “From Youth to Youth”.
With this concert Viimsi Music Scool selebrates it’s 45th anniversary.

Music is presented with a typical Austrian style of humour, which can be approximately characterized as “jet black” and “here and there” absurd.
Elements of slapstick exist next to virtuosic brass playing. They are often popularly referred to as “The Monty Python of the musical world”. Austrian and German schlager songs of the 20th century are often caricatured.

Alessio Menconi is an italian guitarist born in Genoa. He approached guitar when he was 10 as selftaught. Cosidered a prodigy, he start 1986 is professional career with best italian musicians. In 1992 he won the award as “Best Soloist” in Gran Prix du Jazz”.
In 1993 he participated in “Eddie Lang festival”contest (the most important competitions for guitarists in Italy), winning the first prize as best italian jazz guitarist.
He plays in Europe, Asia, Africa, north, center and south America and recorded over 40 cds with several musicians. In 1995 Paolo Conte called him to play in several world tours until 2004 and he recorded four cds. In the same period Billy Cobham wanted him since to play with him in several concerts.
In the same year, he have been selected in Paris to play with “ONJ” (orchestre national du jazz) In 2003, He participated as only italian to the cd “Voodoo crossing-a tribute to Jimi Hendrix” with Robben Ford, Steve Lukather, Hiram Bullock ,Larry Coryell and many others.
Lately is leaded of his own trio and of his solo project with whom jus made cds, and he is the jazz guitar teacher in the conservatory of music “Paganini” of Genoa and he wrote four books of jazz guitar.
He is one of much important and wanted guitar player in Italy and other countries in Europe.
He takes “Jazz lighthouse” 2009 Career award. In 2011 he was included in a cd compilation of world best jazz guitarist as only italian. In the same year, “Jazz It” magazine put his record “Sketches of Miles” in the best 100 jazz records of the world.
Anna Zavorina was born in Siberia, where she started to play violin at the age of 7. Studied at Chopin’s music college, played in many symphonic orchestras.
After graduation she moved to Saint-Petersburg where she became interested in jazz music, inspired by Charles Mingus and Esperanza Spalding she discovered double bass and singing.
Afterwards she participated in many musical contests such as “Autumn Marathon” (special diploma), “Lady in Jazz” (grand prix), “Petrojazz” (special price), J&M Voices (first prize).
Seeking new experiences she got the opportunity to study at the conservatory in Amsterdam with teacher Frans van der Hoeven. At the moment she is working on her debut album.

This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the death of the legendary tango king Astor Piazzolla and as part of it, Jaak Lutsoja’s family trio is in front of you.
Talented musicians – mother, soprano Kersti Ala-Murr, daughter Liis Lutsoja on the violin and father Jaak Lutsoja on the accordion -offer a wonderful musical journey into the magical world of Piazzolla.
You can enjoy both the slightly lesser-known creations of the tango king and the hits that don’t need to be introduced, mostly in the musicians’ own settings.

Discount is available for students, university students, pensioners, ITIC card holders and people with special needs with a proof of eligibility for discount (asked on location).
Children up to 6 years (including) get free entry unless stated otherwise in the concert information. Children without a ticket will not be granted a seat.
Youth under the age of 16 can attend evening concerts (from 23:00) only with an accompanying adult.

From Tallin you can reach us by busses 1A and 114. By car or taxi it takes about 30 minutes.
There are very nice hotels in the centre of Viimsi, largest are HOTEL LAVENDEL and Viimsi SPA
